CameraArtswelcomes submissions to our magazine. We will review every submission for a $25.00 (non-refundable) charge. Below are the guidelines for submitting your photographic work. Please be sure to carefully review and adhere to these guidelines to assure the proper handling and return of your submission. Thank you.

Please Note:

We only accept work captured with small to medium format cameras. No work done with large format cameras can be accepted at this time.

Submissions can be made as:

  1. Traditional or digital prints up to but not exceeding, 8x10 inches (Note: please include titles or reference numbers on each image sent)
  2. A book with your photos
  3. Scanned images (tiff or jpg) on CD (low resolution for reviewing) 10-20 images are preferred

We are a PC based publisher.

We will not review:

  1. Web Pages
  2. Prints that have been mounted

Expected time frame:

Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for review and/or return of your submission.

Exclusive Preview Portfolios

In an effort to expedite the initial step of the submission process, we will be opening a new feature on www.CameraArts.com: Exclusive Preview Portfolios. Twice a month, three new portfolios will be added to our web exclusives section. Photographers that have been accepted will be published in this form first. After the portfolio is posted, the photographers are notified, and the CameraArts staff will decide whether the online portfolio will become a print feature.

Returns:

If you would like your submissions returned include a SASE or other form of return postage. We recommend that you use packing materials that can be reused when making your submission. Submisssions will not be returned unless proper postage is supplied.

Submission Guidelines

CameraArts will not accept responsibility for damage incurred during shipping to or from our offices. If you fail to include return postage, your submissions will be held for 30 days before being discarded. We highly encourage you to include return postage so that we will not have to throw away your work.

Please Do Not:

Call or email us to see if we have received your work. You can include a delivery confirmation notice through your delivery service provider. We will make every effort to return your images in a timely manner if you have provided the requested return postage. Due to the huge volume of submissions we receive, we request your patience and understanding in this matter.

Do not take a rejection personally. Since CameraArts is published only six times a year, the selection process is brutal. We try to present a variety of work from many photographers. Your rejection does not reflect on your talent as a photographer but an inability to publish all submitted work. Thank you and we look forward to reviewing your images.

Terms and Conditions: Guidelines

CameraArts assumes no responsibility for solicited or unsolicited contribution materials unless otherwise agreed to in writing. We do not automatically accept or agree to the conditions and stipulations printed on delivery memos, packing slips and related correspondence as they are presented without prior notice when accompanied by submission materials.

Any original material sent to us is at the photographer's risk. Exceptions to this disclaimer of liability on the part of CameraArts must be prearranged, executed in writing and signed by both parties prior to the shipment of materials in question.
